Friday....we caught 9 mostly FNF and jerkbait on wind blown banks. Sallies 4.2, 3.9 and a 3.8....several nice spots in the 2-3lb range and one rogue Larry that looked like it was raised by smallies. I felt like this was average for us and we should surely do better the next day. We ended up focusing more main lake points with clear water.
Saturday...a couple nice sallies (one 5.2) before 8:30 a.m. and then the front came through....the fish seem to really shut down behind the front. They didn't want to leave thier hideouts...man we need some cold weather to push the baitfish deeper. I thought this was a really rough day.
Some friends of mine ran into the legendary Bill Nichols who had only caught one which made me feel a lot better. He's a fishing machine...300 days a year at age 77. Not with my old lady! I'm happy to get 4-5 a month and a couple weekends.
I'm out of FNF jigs and would love to try something new like a rainbow trout color...but I got to have a hook like the Punisher Jigs....please email me if you got something sweet.
