Best place to clean reels in Louisville?

Where is the best place to get my reels serviced and cleaned in Louisville? Also if you know what the going rates would be. Baitcast and spincast reels. Thanks in advance.

RE: Best place to clean reels in Louisville?

Smyrna Bait and Tckle seemed to treat me pretty good a couple of weeks ago...basic cleaning/lubing of three bait casters that did NOT need parts cost me $9.00 each...Take them in on a Friday and pick them up the following Friday...

    Reel Doctor @ Bullfrog Creek

Thats ridiculous, if Mike charged you for a cleaning, he DID CLEAN THE REEL - PERIOD. He's the best service/repair shop in the region, he has over 20 years experience and his prices are competitive with Bass Pro Shops. Call Mike the Reel Doctor @ 499-7770 ext. 3

RE: Reel Doctor @ Bullfrog Creek

I have work done from the reel doc. a few times and he did a nice job. I can't say anything good about the guy at the front of the store. That is why I don't buy any bait from there. Ryan.

I will never take a reel to the reel doctor. I did once and it was one to many. My personal opinion is he's a shady character.

RE: Best place to clean reels in Louisville?

I have sent several reels to the Reel Doctor and have no complaints about their work. I have, however, recieved 2 invoices for repiar of a reel that has been paid for. Take a reel to each, Smyrna and Reel Dr., and let us know who does the better work. Just an idea.

RE: Quantum Energys about 7yrs old.....

send the shimano back to shimano... there cheap and (FOR THE MOST PART!) anyway they will fix any problems in the reel for free.....and the other reel I would send anywhere but to the reel dr.

like I said thats just my thoughts... and just so you know the cleaning I DIDNT GET and was told to pay for... I sent the reel to shimano to have them look at it cause it was under warrenty and THEY EVEN made a note about it the computer for the reel cause even they said the reel had not been cleaned!!!! there was dirt still all over the inside of the reel..... and I sent them a copy of the bill so they would know for sure I wasnt making it up.... oh the price he TRIED to charge me for the cleaning was REALLY HIGH!! There are several places around our area that will clean a reel for no more then 15.00 and he was something over 20 I cant remember the price but it was over 20.00

RE: Best place to clean reels in Louisville?

He's not in Louisville but give Delbert Decker a try. He lives outside of Leitchfield. He has a large inventory of parts and only charges $7.00 to clean and lube a reel. His phone # 270-259-5860.
