If you have been paying attention from the very beginning, there was no official tournament. Then some wanted to fish, as this is a fishing board. Also, this site has a tournament board, and mostly has tournament fishermen, so a friendly, very inexpensive tournament was born. There was even suggested a creek type fishing contest for those who wished to fish the tail waters, like a creek.

Also you would have noticed that I recently posted that if Jim, or someone else could not hold the pavillion, I would not be fishing the tournament, as I woudl be making sure we had a pavillion for the cook out. So, as you see, the tournament is secondary. Also, from what I understand, there have been attendees who don't fish the tournament, and are only there for the fellowship. Now I've addressed your questions, would you answer one please?

Why would the pressence of some type of tournament preclude you from participating in a fellowship get together of several people who all enjoy discussing our great "sport" of fishing?

This started out several weeks ago in a thread called "Fishin.com Tourney" and then progressed to a discussion of how there could be a series with different divisions. It was only in this latest thread that it began being called a "get-together" although everyone knows what it really is.

I'm through with this thread. It's not about me, anyway. It's about 45 people replying and then 5 showing up to fish a tournament all morning and then eat some food for a bit.

And as I said before, if it's really about getting together and fellowship, why can't you drop the tournament altogether?

What's in a name anyway ? What should it matter to you "fishrgurl" whether it's called a Fishin.com Get Together or Fishin.com Tournament ? You wouldn't show if you were given that Mustang you wanted last year.

I haven't been causing any controversy. If you haven't noticed, I don't go into the tournament threads and reply about anything. All I did this time was mention how there had been all these grand plans at the last two "get-togethers" and then basically nobody show up. From that point, people asked me to attend and I told why I wouldn't. If you'd quit insisting, you wouldn't hear a peep out of me.

Maybe you guys could show up at the Strader Show and crack a few chairs across each others backs. Then grab a 10 ALL Pro fron the Punisher booth and start swinging them at one another, but not before someone suplexes the other off the back of the hawg trough. Now I would show up(Heck, I'll be there anyway) for that.

Notice to Billy ,Mark and anyone else that thinks like they do...this "Gathering" isn't any hassle.

Everything was going just fine til little ole fishrgurl had to chime in and post "her" negative remarks as usual.
I know, "she" was dragged into this thread. It was all just a friendly & jokingly invite, which all "she" had to say was "she" couldn't make it again.

WHO CARES Billy ? Alot of us do, more than don't.

If you don't, then don't come. We don't want to hurt your feelings or beliefs by having a little tournament before we eat and socialize with each other.

Those that do care will be there and we'll have a good time as always.

A few WON'T stop this from happening. Heck... I've already ordered the trophies.

Oh I care...trust me. I put a lot more into Gatherings of my own around here and throughout the year.

What we don't care about is all the BS bickering.....

Some folks just don't like to play around or be joked with.....you also have to respect that.

But the rest of us would like a cease-fire.....I think you need to reread or interpet the WHO CARES a little differently. The outings I have noone cares about who catches the biggest or the most it's all about the fun or if some guys bet on who catches the most or the biggest.

To Fishgurl....it's time to come clean. This was funny at first, but dragging it out is irritating and it disrupts threads from time to time. Every time Tony posts something you'll chime in or Danny and then it's back and forth. Kinda like Me, Danny, Jim, and Dave at one time. But the thing of it is we all were straight up with no faking anything. If I had something to say to them whether it be a hello or a FU, then they knew it was me and the same for them.

Someone please lock this thread so Devil's Horse can reopen a new one without all this.

Heck, I lived that 70's show. No need to relive that here, or watch it. Other than in syndication, is it even still on?

I was really just having fun with it Billy. To me it is more like a game of chess. 'gurl makes a move, a statement, often to the opposite of what the majority, I have then tried to think through what it was saying, and what it might say in the following posts, and I make a statement to elicit a response to see if it will follow the way I think it would.

I anticipated someone coming to the rescue of 'gurl, and I thought that person might be the alter ego, however with you I truly don't believe that. You have been way tooooooo honest with me for me to ever believe you would hide your identity.

I still don't believe 'gurl is who it claims to be, but I won't continue to engage in this tit for tat that we have going on. I will respond to future threads where in it takes more controversial stands.

I do apologize to you Billy, and to anyone else to whom I've caused any pain with my play. I realize one could just say, if you don't like it, don't read it, but truthfully we all tend to read everything anyway.

I hope you still make it to the get together. By the way, we started calling this a get together some two to three years ago, when the first thoughts of this were first brought to light, by yours truly.
