Hey Dave, cast your vote.
Let's not forget this is a fishin.com get together. Some of us happen to be going fishing. Anyone reading the board should see this as a chance to put board names to faces, have a picnic, and maybe tell a few lies. If you want to just go fishing, anyone is welcome to do so without signing up for the tournament in any way, just go out and catch a few.
Hybrid chasers, crappie mongers, blue gillers, cat fishers, carp rasslers, and anyone else, there is NO obligation whatsoever to pay any contest fee to be part of this very informal gig. Black bass anglers may be the most vocal posters on the board, but they ain't all there is. If you need a boat to fish out of, say so and most anyone running a boat that has an extra seat will probably be glad to take you fishing.
There are some great people on this board, (even Dicken's an alright guy when he's asleep) hopefully everyone takes advantage of the opportunity to get together and make some new friends.
I would like to go. I just got back from Barren last night and have been gone all week. When is this going to take place?
Barren Report (Amature LOL):
The water was very cloudy from 3 inches of rain last week. I would drop a red gig in the water and within a foot it would vanish. I didn't get a bite (that I know of) in 2 days. Thursday I saw 2 other boats the whole day, and friday I never seen a one. I tryed a pig & jig green pumpkin and no hits. Tried the red and orange popper gigs for crappie and nothing. Put in at Walnut creek and fished from there down to state park. Can anyone confirm that the water color was making it hard to catch fish? I am guessing it was because it was simply BROWN everywhere. Figure the only way you could catchum would be either drag it right in front of their nose or some sort of scented bait. No water temp because my thermocouple disconnected from my depthfinder and never took the time to reconnect it.
I vote Nolin.
