    RE: Depthfinder

If I had $500 to spend on a finder, I'd look around for a Lowrance X85. You can still find them new or near new if you look, and they've dropped in price since Lowrance released the newer X series models. You could buy and X85 which is a nice unit, and maybe have 150 or 200 left over for a valentine's day gift.

    RE: Depthfinder

X-65 and X-75 are a little less power than the X-85 and may perform a little better in shallow water. I have both, X-75 being the better. Get one used and save a bunch of money. If you find one and you don't take it, let me know, I'm looking for one for the pontoon now. I don't know which Lowrance is comparable to those out of production models. I've always had luck with lowrance.Dave
