    Leaky Aluminum Rivet boat.......

Has anyone ever used this product to fix leaky riveted boats?

    http://www.aluminumrepair.com/

If not......does anyone have any ideas. I have a 1995 aluminum Tracker that I LOVE, but it leaks from some of the rivets down the centerline of the boat.

I'd like to repair it myself....Mostly because I don't want to pay $1000 - $2000 to repair a 10 year old, leaky boat.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated......

    Thanks,

    Geo

i used this product a few years ago, make sure you put a floor in if your boat is just a jon. the alum weld is not very flexible, other than that it stopped the leaks

I fixed my aluminum jon boat that had rivet leaks with 2 hammers,an 8lb. sledge and a 4 lb sledge. I had tried everything to put over the rivets to fix the leak and nothing worked. If you can get to both sides of the rivets hold the 8 lb on one side(just hold it against the rivet don't brace it) and tap the other side a couple of times with the 4lb. It works I used to just keep my minners in the bottom of the boat now I have to use a bucket.

I did the same as stickbait did to an old aluminum boat and while it didn't cure the problem completely, it slowed down the leak alot.

    RE: Leaky Aluminum Rivet boat.......

A friend of mine had a very leakey jon boat. What we did was use the heavwy duty rivet gun ( The type that is used to maje sheet metat repair on buses. When we got that done(one days work) we to the boat to Line X and the inside of the boat sprayed with bed liner coating. He was able to use color of choice(Red).
The boat looks great abd never will leak. All was done for less that $500.
    Hope this helps
