transducers

LAST EDITED ON Jan-30-06 AT 11:18PM (EST)[p]Single frequency vrs. dual. I let a salesperson talk me into buying a lowrance lms 337 instead of a lms 332. He said it had 4000 watts verses the 2500 watts the 332 had. I got to looking at the owners manual and noticed it had a dual frequency 50/200 transducer on it. Is there an advantage or disadvantage to a 50/200 dual frequency verses a 200 single frequency? Any help would be appreciated ,since I have not yet installed the unit.

Thanks!!!

RE: transducers

No unless your fishing around 600'
200khz is all you need for freshwater however the 4000 watts peak to peak is nice if your shootin thru your hull.
