    RE: Drop shot help

Last year I had a lot of success using a BassPro 6'6" medium soft tip rod with 8lb florocarbon line. This year I am going to a 7' light action AllStar spinning rod that I am custom building. Can't wait to try it out. I caugt more fish casting to the bank and pulling it back than a direct over the side cast.

Thanks, I guess I already have what I need. It is a 7 ft. light action spinning rod. I'd love to try to build my own rods, sounds pretty cool.

    RE: Drop shot help

I just finished by 4th rod for my dad. A 6'6" IMX spinning rod medium action for walleye fishing. He loves it. It isn't hard, but can be expensive. If interested go to Rodbuilders.org and start asking questions. They will put you on the right track. Just in parts, a good custom rod will cost anywhere from $50 - $100.
