Spring Fever is Just Around the Corner

Okay everyone, I know you making plans for that first major fishing trip. When do you think is going to be the best month/week to go? What lake are you planning to go to first? What water will you plan on fishing? What baits you plan on using?

My plans are: March 4th, Rough River, North Fork, Jerkbait,Jig,Crankbait. Just enjoy a good day on the water with friends.

Heading to KY Lake, hopefully the very next time we have at least 2-3 days of warming weather.

BTW, speaking of spring fever, I've fished the last couple of years in a spring fever tournament that was put on by what I believe is the Hopkins Co. Bass Club. Anyone heard when this event is this year? Also, any other opens coming up down on the lakes? KY and Barkley lakes that is.

I believe there's a FOCAS trailer tourney meeting at the 68 bridge on March 11th.

Thanks... I think there may also be a Wildcat tourney that weekend, I need to check the schedule. Nope, it is the 18th, the same weekend as the SOKY's first tourney.

Any chance you may wish to fish that tourney on the 11th? We will need to do a little pre-fishin' first of course!!

Is the FOCUS group the christian club out of Cadiz?

They are also having the Kentucky Lake Bass Club Spring Open on that day out of the Dam. $70 per boat, 75% payback buddy tourney.

Yes, the FOCUS is the Christian group out of Cadiz. The guys I've met have all been pretty good guys. They generally draw a pretty big crowd. I am not sure what percentage they payback, but we can fish either tournament you wish. I just really want to fish!!

Hey, I just gave you a call, and left you a message. Let's talk it over, and make our plans!! I think the long range forcast is calling for 50's next week. I don't know if you can get away during the week, but if you can, let me know. I am itching to get out there in the worst way.
