With this weather I would not fish either place but if you have the ability to fish the tailrace with safety that would be where I would want to go To back troll cranks like you do for steelhead with a big flow for walleye or to drift the float n fly for trout or to cast shad raps for browns aimlessly close to the dam in the flow.laurel lake has been tough nut to crack for me, so I do not know about it as I have spent little time on that lake.

Well let's see. Largemouth bass are not adaptive to lake environments???? Hybrids would do much better in Cumb. than stripers??? Hybrids eliminate gizzard shad from a lake???? Hybrids are cheaper than stripers??? Where do you get this stuff? BTW, those big walleye haven't been caught from Greers Ferry in almost 20 years.

Joe B thanks for biting on the stupid stuff. I did not say that largemouth bass do not adapt to a lake environment that would be stupid, only that is seems the ky bass is more prolific in the setting of lake cumberland as they seem to very well and prosper and then the state wants to limit their numbers. The reason is that they are small bass and people do not want them.So if your argument is for a fish that does better in the lake then you would be a spot guy. Greers ferry,Yes there have been no monsters caught out of that lake in the past few years but they have the genetic potential to do so and they might do it again,Tell me that could not happen again. I believe that their walleye fishery is equal or better than ours for larger walleye. Granted there have been no 20 pounders, but that has never happened on Lake erie, ever.
