    Reelfoot Crappie

I was thinking of going to REELFOOT with my dad brother and nephew for three days on March 16th and staying at the Eagles Nest Resort. Has anyone done this? Good idea? Lots of fun? Stay home any advice would be appreciated. We chose that date because thats the last week before the rate goes up $70.00 per person.

It all depends on the weather,Reelfoot's got the fish, you just need a little warm weather ahead of your visit.Your staying at a place that knows the lake.I don't know if its still open, but if Boyette's is open eat there early and often.Good luck and watch out for the snakes, snakiest dern place I've ever been.

The first and second week of April is considered prime time, however if weather cooperates the time you've slated could be good as well. If you have never been to Reelfoot you will love it, it is really a cool lake. Don't take your own boat, that lake has two million stumps in it, and it's super shallow. You won't have to worry to much about the snakes in March, besides most of them are just ole water snakes anyway. When you get out on the lake and away from everything it's like being a huge swamp, kinda eeery in a way but it's beautiful.

Hey don't forget to try for the bass down there also, there are some real dandies in that lake. That time of year slow rolling a spinnerbait in and amongst the standing cypress groves and the pockets of vegetation, lillypads and the like, will flat get your arm broke.
