Looking for a Fluke Hook?

I'm looking for a certain type of hook for fluke and plastic jerkbait fishing. Seen them yesterday on a fishing show, they are weighted on the shaft and come in 2/0,3/0, and 4/0 sizes. One of the coolest hooks I've ever seen for fishing jerk plastics, flukes and the likes. I've rigged some of my own before by squeazing splitshots on the shank of the hook and this works, but these hooks looked much better.

Has anyone ever tried using suspendots or strips on the hook. Most of us probably have them in our box anyway for altering buoyancy on cranks and jerks. You could put it on after the fluke is rigged to keep from tearing it up. You would also be able to adjust how much weight you added to the hook by simply cutting the lead. Just a thought. Probably gonna have to try that myself. Anything that can save a buck is worth a shot.

That suspend dots seems like a good idea! i just might try that sometime when my regular wide gap hooks fails me.(like that will ever happen)lol

I saw in a post that you fish T's. Time management is critical and anything that could get the bait down to the strike zone faster could be an improvement as long as it doesn't hamper the bait's action. It was just an idea for the fellow asking about the weighted fluke hooks. You can never be closed-minded about new ideas and such. If nobody thought of or implemented new ideas we would all still be using cane poles and minners.

Mustad use to sell some not sure about now. We also would take a splitshot and crimp it on the hook for some good action as well.

Just a clarification.....

The Falcon Bait Jerker hooks are $4.09 for a pack of 4 weighted hooks. Not $4.09 a hook as stated earlier.

Sorry, I read it wrong. There are times you need to get deeper to get bit, also can be deadly on stripers and wipers as well. One dollar a piece is reasonable, didn't mean to ruffle feathers.

No ruffling at all, just wanted to make the clarification, I've used them before but the soft lead wire also works and you can adjust the weight to get the action and fall speed that you want.
Again, I was just making a clarification, I did not take it in a bad way. I didn't mean it to sound that I did. Sorry for any misleading that I did.

Just my two cents, this years bass pro cat has the minnow head jig with a 3/0 hook with the bottom spur on the jighead in white and gray, I ordered 60 of them because i could not get them for the past 2 years. When the water hits 60 to 65 they work well with the albino super fluke to catch all species of bass,striper,walleye,and the rare cat- flathead

I do just fine with regular wide gap hooks. I wouldn't bother with those fancy hooks!

Bass pro catalog had some weighted fluke hooks. I bought a couple of packs. I wish I would have got a smaller weight though. It doesn't take much to really mess up the appealling action of a soft jerkbait.
