Looking for a Fluke Hook?

I bought some of these hooks but didn't care for them. The weight tends to stretch out and rip the bait (fluke). The fluke didn't seem to last as long. IMO, I would rather use a 5/0 wide gap and insert a piece of finishing nail in the top end of the fluke to add weight... Cut different nail lengths and keep them w/ your tackle. Also, don't shy away from the 5/0 hook. You'll hook up with more fish and bring more to thumb using a fluke. I use the 5/0 when I creek fish for smallies as well.

smljaw, good tips, I've done the nail thing before, I just found them on backwaters site. Falcon makes them and they are called bait jerker hooks, check them out, these are the exact ones I was looking for. Wow 4.09 per hook, ouch, oh well that's what I get for wanting it. The wife say's I'll never have what I need, and that I'm always gonna be fishin and huntin poor. You know what, I think she's right.

Check out Flutterhook.com. The price there is 2.50 for a pack of 3 or 4 depending on size and weight. I believe they carry these at Bass Pro.

They say to just wet the hook lead real good then slide the bait right on with very little to no damage to bait.

I like the weighted hook but I was unable to rig it w/out stretching out/damaging the head of the fluke. Any suggestions? Maybe it would work better with one of those 3x Strike King fluke baits.
