G Loomis Crankbait rod question

I currently have a G Loomis Medium Light Crankbait series rod that I love to throw shallow (<4ft) baits with, but deeper
(>5ft)running baits seem a little to much for this rod. Can anyone suggest a G Loomis or St. Croix rod they like to throw deeper (4 - 8 ft.)crankbaits with? Also, needing a rod I can throw 1/4oz. or > spinner baits with, any suggestion on the type of action that works best for spinner baits? Thanks

I have 2 identical 7' MH Fast tip Crankbait series Loomis both with Curados and love them. They have no problem with shallow, medium or deep running crankbaits, slow rolling a spinnerbait or even casiting a texas rigged tube. The rods work very well, best I ever owned.

I love the Loomis crankin rods also,Im assumming you have a cbr756c(6'3") its the lightest crank rod they make,you might want to step up to the cbr 841c or the cbr843c (both 7') as far as spinnerbaits you'll need something withsome backbone but a softer tip for accuracy in the loomis line I would look at the sbr 751c(6'3") or the sbr 811c(6'9") these are their technique specific rods and would work well with 1/4 oz. baits

Thanks for the info guys. VMAXX, I currently have the CBR781, looks like I need to step it up to the CBR783 or the CBR845 like elnut suggested.

The 845 I have works really well with the dt-16 type baits, the 783 vs 781 you probably wont notice alot of diff. their both med. action with a power rating of 1 vs 3, I read too much into your post I mixed the 1/4 oz sp. baits into the cranks-oops and thought you were saying small baits

I just finished reading your post about possibly needing a crankbait rod and a spinnerbait rod.I currently have a 7' loomis crankbait rod (cbr 845) that I would like to sell for $110. Also I have a6'8" Castaway casting rod which makes a great spinnerbait rod. The Castaway rod is their I-M6 model rated @ 10-17lb. Iwould like to get $60. dollars for this rod.Both of these rods are in exellent shape! The above prices are just about half of what you would pay for these rods if you bougt them new. Of course ther would be shipping to get these rods towhoever would be interested.

A 6ft.-6'6 med or medhvy is usually good for spinnerbaits

With the depth range that you are want to crank, I would suggest looking at the CBR843. I have this one and love it for medium cranking. It will also work very well for shallow cranking and will handle a DD22 if the need arises, but I would like to get a CBR903 for a DD22.
Just remember this, there will be some slight variations in the action of a cranking rod. After deciding on a Loomis rod, I went through every 843 in the store to find the one that I got.
