    Homemade Baits

Just curious to know if anyone on the board makes there own lures...also, does anyone know where wire can be purchased to make spinner baits with?

    RE: Homemade Baits

I make jigs in about any color combination, but I only have one mold right now and a 3/8 ounce is the biggest I can make. I plan on ordering a mold for 3/4,1/2 and one ounce soon. If you have any questions or requests you can catch me at [email protected]

Jannsnetcraft, Stamina Inc., Barlows Tackle are three places to get wire, both preformed and unbent.

Several of us on the board make various baits. I make jigs and wood plugs for stripers. Also a few plugs for smallmouth. Used to do spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and flies.

    RE: Homemade Baits

I make spinnerbaits and custom skirts for jigs and spinnerbaits. Those three sources provided are good. A spinnerbait I made in mid 90s caught me a 5 lb largemouth and 4 lb smallmouth within a half hour on Barkley. It was either a good spot or a good bait. Let me know if you need anything.
