what is the best tackle box?

I am considering purchasing a new tackle box. I was impressed the the new PLANO that is a cross between a soft and hard tackle box but its$60. Not sure if its worth that much. I may purchase the Bass Pro Shop soft tackle box. I fish from a canoe, kayak or jon boat. Usually bass, crappie, bluegill. Any suggestions? Hard or soft box, ect...? thanks!

A paper sack works great. Show up with one of these at a tournament, and it will scare the crap out of everyone!lol

Great idea. Not only will you give others a false sense of confidence, but someone who is sponsored with free tackle bags at home are likely to give you one!!!

I wish this thread had occurred prior to my buying all the different tackle boxes I have. I would have tried the above, or just stood outside WalMart or BPS with a sigh reading, "will fish for a tackle bag!"

    LOL

I have, like I posted, a bunch of different bags. Fishing out of my own boat, I don't use any of them. However, if I am fishing with someone else, and I think I have enough room, I take my soft sided because my plano boxes fit so well inside. However, if I am fishing and expect little or no extra space, or if I am walking around one of the ponds in the fields, I take a small hard sided box, and put only those baits I expect to use.

If I were to pick only one, I'd take my softsided box. Not only do the plano boxes fit, but you can unzip the top half off, leaving you two small units. Makes it much more flexible in different situations.

you're right the bag weighs a ton but you can fit approximately $426.32 worth of lures in it (aproximately lol). its just huge for the money.

Here's a suggestion for you. Most of the time Ifish out of my own boat. no problem all my tackle is in Plano 3700 boxes and marked so i can read easily. But, when an occasion arises that I can fish wist someone out of their boat, I keep the following on hand. I keep a gym bag, that is on the small size,(most guys Ifind don't leave much storage area for their partner)and several small Plano boxes that fit inside. When getting gear ready for the trip, I take along in the boxes those lures I think should work, and of course my lures of confidence. I have everything i need in a small package, which should work great for a conoe.

i bought one from wal-mart made by okeechobee fats. 8 3700 boxes pockets everywhere and a place for sunglasses for only $38. looked in bass pro and cabela's and the closest one in cost with all of the same features was $80. best deal to me.

I've got the same one, too. Only problem is it weighs a ton when full! You ought to see me carrying that bag on one arm and 8 rods on the other, lol.
