    Triton Trailers?

I have a 1998 TR-20 on a single axle trailer. I keep having blowouts from my trailer bouncing so much. I have heard that there was a recall on some trailers from around that time. What i am wondering is if anyone knows any information about this or if anybody has had the same problem. Also where around here can i purchase atrailer for my boat and how much do they run? Thanks for any help!!!

    RE: Triton Trailers?

If you will check the ID tag on the trailer and call the company that built it they can help you out.

Ifyou lookunder the trailer you will find only two leafs in your springs. They can supply you the new springs for a little of nothing. They are not hard to change out at all.

Had the same problem and this is what I did and now not only does it not bounce all over everywhere, but tows a whole better. This will definitely cure your problem.

I'm not sure about the recall. I know there was a leaf spring recall but I only know of one from 2003 that affected about 20 boats from our store. We can order you a new trailer, call and ask for Sean or Robbie, 866-9-PLAPPS.

    RE: Triton Trailers?

My 2001 TR-21 has an EZ Loader trailer. They had a recall because they only used mono leaf springs and had trouble with them breaking. They sent me new multi leaf springs and all the hardware to replace them.
I'm not sure what brand trailers Triton used in '98 but this could be your problem. If your springs are weakening under the heavy load they could be flexing too much and allowing the metal fenders cut the tires. I would look at checking and replacing your springs before investing in a new trailer.
    Just my opinion.
