Anybody been to Lake Lure, N.C.?

we are staying in a time share on Lake Lure, near Ashville, N.C. in the beginning of April. Has anyone been there, fished there, or heard of it? I'd like to find some interesting things to do in the area and get out on the lake a fish a little. Any recommendations appreciated!

i have heard of it,got a shirt from there but never fished it.i done some looking up about it online and from what i had read you have too have all kinds of permits too fish it .

Yeah, I see that they charge you $100 ($200 durring peak summer)just for a boat permit, for one week!

the area is nice,my wife went there on vacation last year she has family that lives there and there is alot too do and all kinds of lil'shops too visit .
