RepackingTrailor Bearings

I would like to know how often most of you clean ,repack or replace your trailor bearings? I"ve been reading in Cabellas about an oil filled and water proof hub kit that has a transparent cap so you can actually see the oil if it's low and runs cooler than grease. It looks like it would be easier to install than cleaning and repacking bearings with grease. Has anyone tried these?

I had an interesting conversation a few years ago with someone from a bearing buddy type company. He stated the common misconception was that one did not have to clean and repack trailer bearing when using his type product. His advice was to have bearings repacked every year and no less than every two years to prevent problems. I don't know anything about the new type of sealed bearings.

I have these kind of bearings on my trailer and I love them because of the mess you dont have to put up with and have not had
any kind of trouble out of them.These bearings was on the trailer
when I bought the boat.These bearings came on a Ranger trailer.

That sounds awesome, I hate that dang job. If it ain't broke don't fix it, but if you are getting substantial water in there, needs to be fixed right away. If not and the seal is good, just add grease to buddies when needed and leave alone.
