I think he did this for a reason...Right now what is the main subject of this thread? What story has been most talked about through the classic coverage? Ike and his DQ. He is the main focus whether he does well or not. His kind of behavior will attract attention. I am not sure where I stand with how Ike is. I think when not fishing his composure is excellent and does a lot for the sport. People who know nothing about fishing,knows who the screamin fisherman is. Whats wrong with that? Attracting a new and broader crowd for the sport of bass fishing. That is our future, the upcoming bass fisherman. Now the thing I do not like is how he is tries to oversale things, such as his book in 2004 classic I beleive and seeing him hold that Mountain Dew bottle towards the camera was a little obvious, but I guess it pays the bills for him. I do hate the fact that the over coverage his DQ gets while the guys who have done the catching of large bags get overlooked and not even showed at the live weigh in coverage. They have a pretty good idea of who has what...why do they not show them???? You know Ike did this for attention somewhat, but I tell you what if I had my fish die in a tourney I would probably be a little upset to say the least, and I'm not usually fishin for half a mill. He has passion which I love and sometimes how he reacts to things creates more attention on his behalf and trying to make it as a pro bass fisherman you do things to stick out, whether its bad or good. And in conclusion, a quote that Dale Earnhardt told Jeff Gordon one time, " The day you start worrying is when the booing stops."
My 2 cents...and I envy Ike, hes doing something I wish I was, and maybe I'll meet him head to head in the classic after I get done with my backup plan,college.

Great, maybe next classic he can bite the ear off a fellow angler and threaten to eat their children. That ought push the sport of competitive fishing a quantum leap forward. It's The BASSMaster Classic...not to be confused with NASCAR, WWF, Barnum & Baily or an Eminem concert.

The guy has a bulls eye on his chest and ESPN jumped at the story when he blew his top! However, I think the guy is a total JACK### and deserves what he gets.

The quicker everyone quits paying attention to Ike the quicker he will fade away. I hope some of his sponsors get pulled but I seriously doubt that will happen any time soon. Unfortunately, Ike's quick temper and foul mouth sells books and other products. What a shame.

Ike certainly put a black eye on Day 1. Other than the DQ, and all of the attention he got, it was a great Classic... Oh, speaking of sponsors and attention, did you like how Ike came into the Day 1 weigh in holding his Mountain Dew right into the camera for all the world to see. What an idiot!

On another note, what about Skeet getting blanked on Day 3. Unreal!

It is one thing to get mad, cuss, throw things or break things. But to take the American Flag and disgrace it like that is UNAMERICAN. The really sad part of all of this is that we, me included, are wasting our time talking about him. NO CLASS AND NO SPORTSMANSHIP is the definition in Websters Dictionary when you look up the word Icconelli. Any company that continues to sponsor them should take a serious look in the mirror and consider all those that has died for this country in the past and continue to die for this country as IKE throws his childish temper tantrums. NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER GIVE UP is what many men and women have done to provide protection for the flag that we all live under. TO HELL WITH IKE. I personally hope he never catches a keeper again, is dropped by all of his sponsors and is not permitted to fish in any tournament ever again. Grow Up Son and show some respect. I certainly will give all fellow fishermen the benefit of the doubt but he has been given too many, too much and too often. Clunn, KVD, Parker, Hibdon, Yelas, Martin.... all remembered for their fishing. Ike will be remembered for his childish acts, temper tantrums and NEVER GIVE UP.

What a jerk. I just can't stand him, or anything he's on or in. I even ripped the cover off the Feb. BASS mag. We all have our moments but these things on national tv. He should be banned and shamed from our sport for life. Now the flag Issue, I cant believe some of the good ole boys tolletated that. I am a former Marine who dearly loves our flag and all it stands to represent. If he doesn't have respect for anythingelse he should still have respest for our great nations flag. What a loser!!! The other actions speak for themselves, but disrespecting our flag especially on nationat tv deserves a good ole country boy a** stomping. Well, let's see, he's a ##### plain and simple. I've thrown more fits then I care to mention, so I'll try and not judge to much on that since I may not be the best one to do it. However I have never and will never disgrace our American flag, and I DON'T LIKE ANYBODY THAT DOES, PERIOD. He didn't run the livewell pumps because he was searching bedding fish and was afraid they would scare the fish. That's his fault and there is really no dispute on that. He also has no clue how to handle a fish, he slings them around like they are concrete blocks or something. He has no respect for the sport, the fish, other people, or their equipment, it's all about him. Typical in your face New Jersey cutthroat attitude. Hopefully everyone quits talking about him and he just fades away like a bad tooth ache. I also while I'm ranting and raving would like to mention how much I can't stand to watch Byron Velvick talk over everybody that he works with, I'd like to strangle that guy. And what's up with this bring it home to the west side, (WEST COOOAST), crap. I feel like I'm listening to a bunch of gang banging rappers, hell let's get Dr. Drea, or Snoop Dogg to MC the event next year, heck anybody would be better than that Keith goon they have got now.
