ANY IDEAS ON WHERE TO GO BAITS ECT MAY TRY IT NEXT WEEK NEVER FISHED THE RIVER BEFORE WILL BE FISHING FROM THE BANK THANKS DARRELL
Up above Bacon creek there is a bridge at Wheelers Mill where a lot of people fish for walleye from the bank. They catch them on down the river too and the best would be to have a small boat and put in at Bacon and float down. As far as lures go a 1/8 oz curly tail jig is standard for lures and they also catch some on crank baits. I have fished up there several times and have caught a few walleyes, whites, crappie, and bass all on jigs. A couple more tips. On sunny days they bite better early and late (or at night). Walleyes are very light sensitive fish. Finally, pay attention to current breaks out in the river such as rocks or bars. Walleye will stack up behind current breaks.

I'm not really a walleye fisherman, but from what I've seen, night crawlers or minnows seem to work, or maybe small shad crank baits. If you don't know where Bacon Creek is I'll show you if I'm free. I live near there. But be warned, the last time I fished there, all I caught was four carp. But hey, they pulled good!

It's not too early but a good wash of rain down the river would help. I'm saying this without having seen the river but the creeks have been low and clear lately and I bet the river is the same. Tough to find them that way.
