Lead & Paperclip Bait knocker

When I was fishing with Derbytown, someone was making these nice little paperclip and lead bait knockers. Does anyone know where or who or if anyone is still making them?

there pretty common just laying on the counter of most bait shops, cheap, work decent, just grab a handfull

You may want to try this. Works great...

Buy some 1.5 - 2 oz sinkers with some kind of hole in them. Buy a pack of big snap swivels. Snap the swivel to the sinker. When you hang a bait up in deep water snap the sinker to the line and drop it right on top of the bait. It pops the bait free 95% of the time.

I usually find this stuff at Dick's.

I took an old broken rod, and a worn out reel. I bought three one ounce weights, black taped them together, and added a large treble hook. I used spiderwire line that I had left over, and used a large paperclip to hook to my line.

It worked great. Unfortunately, I seem to have lost it. But basically I took old worn out stuff and made me a bait knocker for around $3.00.

basspro has one similar to what you are talking about for a buck or so. i think wal-mart at one time carried these.
