I have a friend who has a Sprint 286 Pro which does not have an engine rating plate on it. Does anyone have any idea how to get a coast guard rating plate for a 1995 Sprint 286 Pro? Or does any know what the boat is rated for. Thanks!

Again, anybody know how to get a new rating plate?
Thanks for confirming. My buddy thought it was rated for a 175. Wonder how you get a new plate?

I have a 99 sprint 286 they are rated for a 175hp. hope that helps
Rangerman,
I don't know how long a 286 is, but if it is over 20 feet, the coast guard doesn't rate them. At that point, they only receive manufacturers plates.
Your friend may try bassboatcentral and see if they have a sprint forum, or try calling a former dealer. Tyler's boats just north of Owensboro, KY used to be a dealer, and I think they are listed in Owensboro.
Good luck,
danny
