Got out today for about 4 hours, now granted its on my little reservoir here in lex, wouldnt report if not for the interesting little tid bit about what we caught. Ended up catching 8 fish, five keepers about 14lbs. Biggest fish was approx 5-5.5 BUT, this big gal was up in 4 ft of water, belly saggin with eggs, and the lowest two bones of her tail were already broken loose from the rest of the tail. I was a little in shock considering 44-46 degree water temp, this big gal was considering droppin in the near future. caught another around 4, not like the big girl in the eggs aspect. Interesting anyways, buzzking

They are not fixing their beds I had a pro at the Louisville boat show tell me the are popping up crawfish with their tails. I don't remember the pros name though

I did the same thing last year at Herrington the fish was probably over 6lb and this was early March. Her pic was at Anglers Outpost. One of the Wardens that has a biology background said it was from the eggs and spawning cycle. Said that was normal for bigger fish.

I caught a 5.5 with a big belly about 3 weeks ago but the belly was rather hard instead of soft like eggs.

Why would you hesitate to report this kind of day? This is a site about fishing and that's a solid 4 hour stretch, buzz. Good job on sticking some early season bass! Are you saying you would quickly post these results had these fish been caught on Cumberland, Cave Run or Barren yesterday?

We have an ABA tourney on C-land on Saturday. I cant speak for Kyle, but I would love to get a UK vs. UL tourney some time this spring and take this rivalry from the hardwood to the water. I am sure all of our guys would love too as well. Sounds like you guys got things gettin in gear down there. Good to see more teams forming. I know EKU and Murray have teams as well. Maybe we can get a date for a Kentucky College Tourney. Kyle does most of our scheduling so you would have to get with him on a date. Tight lines man.
