no spark

i have a 1977 70hp,im not getting any spark out of new plugs,any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks in advance, the hunter

capacitor discharge ignitions require a full charged battery to work properly.

battery fully charged, after looking again noticed the starter celanoid(spelling) stayed ingaged into the flywheel,wondering if this didnt burn somthing out, thanks for your reply, and web site, ill give it a looksee, thanks again, the hunter

I had a similar problem several years ago with a 200 EFI Mercury, turned out to be one of the Stators was bad.
You might have that checked on yours. The way I understood it was that a Stator is like a coil on your auto.

I hope you get it fixed.
