We got there about 7am. Lauched the two-man and made a 15 minute run up to the first spot. Thank god we had helments. That Minnkota 34lb thrust was feeling a LITTLE frisky.
We stopped at the first place and in about the 3rd cast..pulldown...rookie F-n-F fisherman...he thought he was setting the hook into a steel post...it came off...
I caught a smallie right after that. Released the fish and got on the phone to ole RangerMac himself. While I was talking to him a 10 crappie pulled the bobber down....
I caught one more small mouth on the fly in the second place we stopped. it was about 12in.. the 1st one about 10..
After that Jay caught 3 keepers on a D and L black.blue.......
You have to watch the ramp. It's hard mud covered. As long as it's dry it's okay, buy I'll bet when its wet it's slick. There's a lot of mud around the ramp and the 1st part of the cmapground road.
We left a little after noon. But I think we left the best fishing. The clouds moved in as we were leaving.
Water was heavily stained from the ramp all the way to the split. Strodes didn't get much better.
Water temp at the ramp 45....split 43...
