Are you going in a boat or are you going to fish off the bank. T-ville is loaded with bluegill. However I dont know where to catch them this time of year. Sorry. If you are going to fish off bank. I would suggest game farm. They have a pond full of trout for kids only and another for the whole family. I'm not sure if this helps but I hope it does. Good luck where ever you go. Even if you dont catch a bunch. Just enjoy the time together before you know it they are grown up and the times like those will be some of the greastest memories for you all.

If you are looking for bank fishing try Fishermens Park just outside Jtown or McNeely Lake, both of these would be good for Bluegill and I believe they both have playgrounds in case the kiddo loses interest.

Thanks for the help guys. We'll be fishing from my 201. I think I may try to make a weekend trip of it. Maybe reelfoot.

    Dave,

It's been a few years, but let me give you a reccomendation based upon some fantastic bluegill fishing.

A customer I used to call on had an outing every year down at Lake Barkley state park. We normally stayed at the lodge, which is really nice if you want a weekend trip.

We walked down below the lodge to their courtesy dock. Using crickets and floats, with a depth of about 18 inches, we would cast back to shore right in front of a small tree growing just to the right of the dock. Consider right of dock as if standing on the shore looking at the dock.

For about 4 years in a row we caught in excess of 400 'gills. Of course we were catch and release, just using very light rods, and it was a blast. My only guess was that there was a bed there, and the fish were on the bed. We usually were there in late March.

Also, that whole bay is great for fishing. I caught a lot of large mouth and even stripers just fan casting a rooster tail out into open water.

    Good luck,

    Danny

Wilgreen Lake in Richmond...great bluegill lake, but maybe a little crowded, depending on what day you want to go. Tip a popeye jig with wax worm, does wonders.
