Anyone know some places close to lexington to fly fish?

Best flyfishing for trout near Lexington is the Dix River tailwater (below Herrington Lake). Excellent fishing for brown and rainbow trout, some large. Sowbugs and small (18 - 20) nymphs imitating midges or Blue Winged Olives are good. Streamers through the deeper, slower sections can produce some large fish. Access is a problem though as the surrounding land is Kentucky Utilites property and off-limits. Need to come up via boat a couple of miles from KY river. Worth the trouble though.

For stream smallmouth, Elkhorn Creek below Fankfort is great.
