    Powerbait Blade Dancer

Walking thru Wally World yesterday and found the Powerbait Blade Dancer in the clearance bin. I know these have only been out for a short while but could not resist them for 50 whopping cents per pack. Bought the last 12 pack getting 4 packs each of 3 different colors. I did a little research and found out they cost almost $4 per pack. Just curious as to why they would be in the clearance bin for my only thinking is they must be a terrible bait and not selling so well. It would not be the first time I bought something only to CHUCK it later. Just curious if anyone is using this and if so, under what conditions and what retrieve. I read that there is many different ways to fish it and my first thought was to use it around grass, lilly pads and during the brief flower bite at KY. Any help is most appreciated.

    RE: Powerbait Blade Dancer

Dave did a great job with the explanation of the bait, so I won't even try to touch that. But thought I may be able to shed some explanation as to how Wally world does their mark downs. I spoke with one of the department managers a couple of years ago, and she explained it to me.

Every year the department gets a "markdown" fund. The manager decides how to use it, or so she said. That is why some Wal Marts will have something marked down, while others won't. Now if Wal Mart discos something, then it would probably be chain wide. Anyway maybe this will explain how some stores have mark downs while others don't.

    RE: Powerbait Blade Dancer

This lure is a cheap and I mean cheaply built imitation of a handmade lure (can't remember what the name of the original handmade lure). The original was built by an older fellow from Fla. I had one of the originals given to me by the guy that built it and it caught some good fish here on Ky Lake before I lost it. I tried the blade dancer here on Ky Lake and it caught a fish or two but does not have as good an action as the original...just too cheaply built. You can slow roll it, burn it, lift and drop retrieve. By the way, the new "chatterbuzz" lure that everyone is buying has much the same action as the original lure I mentioned.....just another version of it made with a jighead.

Thanks for the response Dave. I will give her a try and if she don't work then they will take up space in the box until I need the room and start Chucking by fish catchability.
