My cousin and I are going to Dale this weekend to do some fishing. We will bein the Holly Creek area. Any advice on what could be working this weekend? We are amateur smallmouth fishermen by far but would like to catch some this weekend. Any advice would be appreciated.

I would try a FNF. I'm still catching 'em at Cumberland on it. 7-8 feet deep. Try main and secondary points as the warmer water is moving 'em in towards the pockets and coves. I've not been on Dale this year but I've done it in the past. Also try a wiggle wart or hot lips craw pattern on the same areas as above, I've really done good down there on the cranks when the water is 50+ degrees and if there is some color. This pattern will usually work on any part of the lake. good luck and post some results.

Try white grubs on 1/8 oz lead heads, whirly bees in a green color, FNF (if it's clear enough) focus on run offs and bluff points next to potential spawning areas....10' and pea size gravel. Hot lips in a texas red crawfish color...especially in stained water. Jerk baits in clown color.....I could go on....but that should get it done for you...oh and don't get frustrated when no one posted...not everyone on here holds back all the info....I don't care what I tell people cuz it's different every time and you have to figure that out....good luck....stick a few for me. Oh and fish the Obey for Redneckshadrap....8^)
i have a few places marked on my map from a buddy of my dads who has been fishing down there for forever. I have plenty of grubs from white to smoke to pumpkinseed.. Also have a few crankbaits in crawdad colors from luckycraft. We might also try to shiners too ... I appreciate the help..
