Fished a pond yesterday afternoon, and caught five out of six bites. No heavyweights but all keeper size fish or above, all came on black blue jig. O.K. here's the surprising part for me, I saw several and I mean several bass very shallow in places they had fanned out on the bottom. Am I saying they were on the nest, no, however these bass when spooked from these spots were returning as soon as you would walk away. I've never seen this to happen this early around here before, and two weeks of warm weather and these fish are going to be bedding, WOW. Get your gear ready fellows it's gonna crank up in a hurry this year IMHO. Water was super clear, Cumberland clear and you could watch them fight all the way into the bank. No shallow fish would bite only bites came from five to six foot deep and out.
