RE: Does anyone like this dude?????

Great reply VMAXX,glad to know someone on here knows the facts.Caught those gaints on a big swim bait,i remember when he did it,it started a swim bait craze out west.I'm not his biggest fan either but it amazes me that there are so many guys on this site that don't know much about people in the professional fishing ranks in general.Hear crazy opinions about pros on here all the time, especially after the ike mess.I think there's a lot of people on here that have just very recently taken an interest in fishing cause they seem to know absolutely nothing about the history of the sport.Recently someone made a comment on here about denny brauer not doin anything on the tour and said he never did, comments like that just make me sit and scratch my head in amazement.Again, great post VMAXX.

SO! HE HAD A BAD DAY. THERE HAVE BEEN PLENTY OF DAYS THAT I WOULD HAVE BEEN TICKLED TO DEATH TO BROUGHT ONE FISH TO THE SCALES. THIS GUY IS LIVING THE DREAM. I THINK ALOT OF YOU PEOPLE ON THIS SIGHT HATE WINNERS. HE MAY NOT WIN ANOTHER TOURNAMENT BUT HIS SPONCERS KNOW HE CAN SELL THEIR PRODUCTS. HE REALLY HELPED OUT BASS FISHING BY BEING ON THE BACHALOR IT TOOK AWAY THE THEORY OF BASS FISHERMEN BEING A BUNCH OF REDNECKS.

Let's face it Byron os no different than any of the other guys out there haking what their sponsors want. He made a decision to fish, which is not an easy decision, considering the expenses involved now. He'd probably be a better "on the water" reporter than others, but it was still a good decision on his part.

I'm not sure what this says about me other than the fact that I don't watch hardly any television, but I have no idea who this guy is...judging from what I've read here he sounds like he's been blessed...

    RE: I'm with you chub

I don't watch that stuff much anymore because the coverage on the important stuff is gone.....take me on a day with a pro that scratched out a limit and made several decisions to make it happen...like day on a lake with..., let me see what he's using...how he tricked out his baits, focus on the presentation and any comentary from the pro on any specific little things he's doing to generate bites.

Byron who? I think my wife watches the bachelor...maybe she knows. Further, I'd like KVD to call me.....he's the Yoda of jerkbait fishing. Dude, my wife will make us some magic cookies.

this post kinda goes along with the "fluke" post, well "fluke" beat alot of good guys that knopw how to catch fish that's no fluke.lucky to get those bites maybe but hey i've won a few tourneys also on lucky bites and i have beat some good fisherman, with that said a fisherman that knows a little can have good days some are classics some are clubs.it takes alot to fish the pro level kinda like moving from a good ole boy club you rule to a circuit you wonder how those guys catch all them fish.opinions of pros vary but don't hate me cause you aint em.

    Does anyone like this dude?????

I'd say that some people just watch the tournaments ,because they like the competitive format without getting all caught up in "WHO" all the different fishermen are and what each of them has done in their respective careers .After a while ,folks like Brauer,Clunn and heaven forbid , even Ike make an impression after repeated successes but not everyone is focused in on every detail of every guy who weighs a sack .Some people are very detail oriented ,others arent as in-tune with all the stats,etc.........they just like to watch , see some big bags of fish and dream .Just my opinion .

Stand him or not he's doing what we'd like to be doing - getting paid to fish. Kinda like IKE. Don't like his antics but he's got what it takes to stay on the circuit.

guys these guys are very good fisherman. and anyone that fishes often knows that your not always going to catch a good sack every time out.

they fish a different body of water at every tourn. with very few days to prefish. it's not like fishing your favorite body of water week-in and week-out.

sure the west side thing gets old but if someone from around here fished out west an done good and then everybody was saying east side all the time it probably wouldn't bother us so bad RIGHT!!!!

bottom line is these guys are good fisherman or they wouldn't have sponsers.

and i certainly don't think winning the bass masters classic and the flw championship is a FLUKE. NOT MANY GUYS CAN CLAIM THIS.

by the way i live in kentucky and fish the FLW/STREN SERIES WESTERN DIVSION AS A CO-ANGLER. blanked at lake havasu both days.

placed 58th out of 200 at clearlake.

some may not think 58th is very good but i did get a check.
fishing lake shasta in cali. on the 29th of march so wish me luck.
