Think political. At this time i would think that the COE would have to cry the worst case secenario to get any funding at all to do the job. Fed funds would be scarce at this time
Water levels are not going to be effected in any way except water levels to be held slightly lower than normal during the spring rain season. You will be able to launch at the dam site on a temporary ramp constructed while they do repairs. Bottom line, no worries and things will go very normal at the big C this year, have at it and be safe.
The way I read was the new ramp is goin in prior to dam repair and that will be the ramp for the public from now on with a bogger parking lot.

They first said it was to be a temp., now I'm hereing the same as you after some research and it's possible a whole new permanent deal. As far as the parking lot goes though haven't heard that part yet but I guess it's certainly possible.
I'm really interested in knowing more about the new ramp. I've had some horrible experiences lauching my 18' Wareagle on the old one. Do you know if it will be an improvement over the old one,,,enough depth on the lowest levels to launch without getting your vehicle in up to the doors?

Are we talking about the same ramp? Cumberland ramps and especially at the dam has got great depth to launch boats. They launch fifty foot cigar boats down there all the time and never get the back wheels of the tow vehicle within a foot of the water line.
I was goin to say the same thing but as far as being a better ramp i dont know. I tried finding the article again but had no luck. It even had an illustration of the new ramp. It will run out the point that is beside the existing ramp. Anyway they article said that there would not be any time that you can launch. This new ramp is going to be built before they move all the equipment in for the repairs.
