    RE: Boat Question??????

If you have a Johnson or Evinrude motor, which I'm assuming, there is a sensor box under the console with two wires connecting to it. pull one wire off and your problem will be solved. Had the same thing happen to mine yesterday. However you might want to invest in getting another one though, so if you do have a prob. it will let you know. Oh, by the way, it is about the size of a golfball and square in shape.

    RE: Boat Question??????

I know exactly what you are talking about. Yes it is an Evinrude 120...now if I had a fuel restriction like the side panel says for that constant tone would the motor runs like it always had? It runs just fine so thats why I'm thinking the sensor is bad. Another thing if I do pull that wire will it alarm me of other things(ie low oil, overheating, etc.)? Thanks for the help man.

Well, one thing you can try would be to get another sensor, try it, if you still have the constant tone, then you know it's not the sensor and then I would take it to a mechanic.

    RE: Boat Question??????

does your tach have lights in it?it may be low oil or a wire grounded to the heat sensor,i had a 150 the fuel backflow fitting on the tank caused the restriction alarm,it would run up 3500 rpm all day open it the alarm would sound until you back off throttle so if it is constant without starting the motor i doubt it is fuel restriction, check the temp wires on the motor for rubbing, check oil and oilsensor in tank.i'd tke to a dealer and have it checked if you dont find anything
