    Fishing MUDDY WATER!!!!!!

I have always had trouble fishing MUDDY WATER. I have an older freind of mine that LOVES to fish Muddy Water. I have seen some of the fish he has caught during these times. Does everyone have this kind of problem or it it just me that can't get the hang of fishing muddy water.

I used to do alot of creek fishin and caught many smallies in muddy water you couldnt see a couple inches down. When the creeks would rise I would find slack water around riffles and throw small bright spinnerbaits in them. You would be amazed at how shallow they can get in muddy water.

    RE: Fishing MUDDY WATER!!!!!!

I've had mixed results. What I have read is that if you are fishing where the fish very rarely see muddy water, then it is very tough, but if the fish see muddy water often, then it is easier.

On Barkley I've had some pretty decent luck, while other times I've totally struck out. Cold muddy water is the toughest. However when I have caught fish in the muddy water it is usually around cover, and I use dark colors, and have to have the bait right on the nose of the fish. I love a red crankbait in muddy water, but you really have to cast it right into the cover. Other than that, I like big colorado blade spinnerbaits, and large plastics. The fish should feel more comfortable, as predators really don't get to see them as easier, however they for some reason don't seem to roam the bank like one might expect.

I'm sure others will have additional information that will help.
