RE: What's your go to????

definately a 12 inch mud-dog....Actually I would probably go with my homemade blk/blu jig quarter ounce teamed up with a zoom beaver prok trailer.

1/8 oz jig head with 4 inch finese worm or split shot rig with same worm. I vary worm colors and tail types depending on water conditions.

Have to agree with the little worms. Especially the sliders in grape or black. I like an 1/8th-1/16 oz. Bull shot about 4" up from the hook.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-22-06 AT 12:05PM (EST)[p]1. 1/2 oz. jig, several colors --> any time of year, day or night
2. carolina rig --> late spring through early fall
3. slow-rolled spinnerbait --> night fishing

I've been trying to get into cranking, throwing a jerkbait, etc., but just have very little confidence in them. After an hour or so with little luck, I'm back to the jig.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-22-06 AT 10:50AM (EST)[p]My main go to would be a Blue & Black 1/4 oz jig witha blue pork frog. If this fails then I would try a pearl Tube jig, then if I still can't find fish I tie on a SR5 Shad Rap and fish it up on the bank, I fished at Lake Nolin, Ky. last year on Memorial Day weekend and we caught 56 fish from 2:30 pm to 10:00 pm. There were (7) different types of fish caught with the biggest being a 20" Walleye. This bait will catch them if there in the area... lol

my "comfort bait" is a deep diving crankbait. Even if that is not working at least I cover a lot of water and feel productive.
