I read on another chat board that Wal-Mart has purchased 1 million of these baits. But there was not a release date to the stores.
Has anyone ever used this bait?

What is a chatterbait? Guess this one got by me! Jig,crank, buzz?
best I can tell, haven't seen one in person. They look like a mix between a jig and an inline spinner. They have a piece of metal in front of the jig that "chatters" clacks against the bait. I am sure someone else will have a link to the web page or be able to decscribe it alot better than I.
the website is chatterbait.com. On there you can order. They even have streaming video to show the action of the bait. Evidently it takes 30 days to process orders. They are made by Rad Lures
The chatterbait is made by Radlures.com like William said they have a video,it is an awesome bait winning a ton of money in Jan. in Fla. including second in the classic. It has been around for about 2 years just no one really talked about it. They sell straight off their website however you can throw the 30 day part out the window I've had an order in for almost 2 months now, after the classic they were 30,000 orders behind. I got tired of waiting and just built my own its a really simple bait.Gambler bait co. has a knock off in production now along with a few other co's so soon we will be flooded with chatter type baits

How did you make the metal "blade" part of the chatter bait? Other than that it appears to be a very simple lure to make.
kc
You need the dimensions off the blade then go to Mcmaster-carr.com and order .007 stainless steel shim stock, I got 2 pieces for 11.00 that will make around 80-100 blades then a split ring and a snap and a jig and your good to go!

Pick up the latest issue of BASSMASTER Mag. There is an in depth article about the chatterbait in it. Bait companies are apparently going to start poducing them this summer. I'm sure they'll be in stores by June or July, if not earlier.
There's also a really good article in this mag about the moon and how it affects fish.
