Anyone fished the creek this week? any bass or crappie report would be appreciated.
The reason I asked what the bass were doing is because I had a good day there on 3-10-06. Fished 3.5 hours and the first 2.5 I didn't get a bite. Picked up a crankbait and caught an 18 inch bass on 2nd cast. I fished a 50 yard area and ended up catching 7 bass with the largest being 19 inches and smallest was 16.5 inches in an hour. I went back the following weekend and caught 5 bass, but the sizes were not as good as on 3-10-06. I would think that this first week of April will be good
Planning on going to Cedar Creek Saturday morning trying to get at least one trip in before my ACL surgery great time to be off the water end of April last of May. This lake always throws me a curve but I just keep going back. I dont understand how you pick timber to fish when the lake is so full of trees. I throw jigs and worms in the trees but 12 of the 15 fish I have caught their all of last year came on crankbaits. Would anyone be willing to give me a very vague idea of what you'll have been catch them on and what depth. Thanks

Well I finally got my first day of fishin on Cedar. I must say I found me a honey hole. I caught fish on a jig and spinnerbait. In several different locations on the lake. I ran into another fisherman that really helped after I told him it was my first time on the lake. I watched him catch 2 fish while we were talking so I had to believe him. It was a simple pattern to follow. I caught quiet a few fish yesterday 03/27 and most was his pattern. When he caught up with me I offered him a steak dinner for the help. Needless to say I had a blast. At launch water was 47 degrees, 49.5 by midday and thats when I found this nice fisherman. I talked to 2 other boats that had over 10 fish. NO KEEPERS however. But when ya go to a lake in this part of the state, this time of year and catch a dozen or so fish from 2.5 to 4 lbs, it makes ya wanna go back for more. And I am thinking Friday will be the day. Bass report on Cedar from me is outstanding fishing. Loved it.
OK some people didnt like it when I put this on Guist thread. I spent my first day fishing on Cedar 03/27 yeaterday. I must say I was impressed. caught lots of fish on jig and spinnerbait. all fish were largemouth from 2.5 to 4 lbs. Water temp was 47 to 50.5 degrees.

I have never fished either lake but would like to some time.
This week on Kentucky Afield they're having their annual fishing call-in show. It would be good if they (KDFWR) would address Cedar Creek Lake and how it has progressed in the eye's of KDFWR as a trophy fishery, and to also ask them what's up with the beach, who's idea was it and why...
What was the water temp. you were catching in? Also how deep were the fish? Is the lake back up? They had it down 5-10 feet to put in a beach. Thought I might give it a try. I would like to catch some nice fish and have some fun doing so.
