LAST EDITED ON Apr-07-06 AT 06:43AM (EST)[p]Was reading my 2006 KY Sport fishing and boating guide and noticed something that I did not notice last year. I do not know if it is because it has come up on this board that made me notice it this year and not in the years past, butt, I am curious about something. On page 16, under the general information section, the last question in the first column is "May I fish around a dock or marina?". Would someone that has their guide from last year look at this section and see if this question was present in last years guide for me? Just wondering if they stuck that one in to address the problems that some of the board members have been having recently. It also addresses the issue of people fishing from their boating slips while not allowing others to fish the same area.
The whole thig reads as follows:
"May I fish around a dock or a marina?
It depends. Public marinas on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Lakes have contractual agreements that address lease space on public waters. The Corps presently allows the marina owners or operators to post signs that prohibit fishing within 150 feet of their floating structures. These agreements do not prohibit a person from fishing from their boat rental slip. This policy does not apply to privately owned boat doscks on Corps lakes."
