Hi Carlet....

I love the idea of what you are doing. My dream is to win the lottery and open a resort on KY lake with a full set of counselors and full time nature and fishing guides to help underprivledged and inner city kids find the outdoors.

I do have one question though, how do you handle the release of liability to the boaters? Obviously one would prey there was never an accident, but they do occasionally happen, and I am wondering what or how you protect your volunteers?

Just like a adult event The BASS insurance has a 1 million dollar liability blanket for any boat or person involved however you must have boat insurance to participate in any bass event.
Some people feel weird taking a child out as with some parents so they sometime accompany them on their trip

Do you have to be a member of BASS for their insurance to cover you?

yes the kbfn and kbf Jr trails are like mirror images.and a lot of the same kids and no you don't have to be a member both KBF and KBFN will cover cause all the kids ARE members.
these were all questions we had at the beginning 4 years ago and were well addressed. because you are participating in a sanctioned event with paying members you are covered however you are still required to have at least liability insurance.

That would be Greg Marshal August the 5th is the KBFN. June 10 is the KBF.
