    Cumberland river

Looking to go to the Cumberland river below the dam. Anyone had any sucess lately. Trout, White bass, Walleye? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm taking my 10 year old son. We have a small boat with a 9.9 hp. Thanks

    RE: Cumberland river

The trout fishing has been awesome so far this year when the water level is down. As of the last couple weeks, they've been releasing quite a bit more water that has probably slowed the fishing. If you're interested in trout, I would check the corps' site before you go down. If they have several hours of low generation, you can probably get into some good fish. If they're running 2 or more generators during most of the day, then I would go elsewhere. The action on the creeks and lakes should start to heat up with the warmer weather.

Good luck. Be careful down there in small boats. Hit a rock sideways in swift current can equal a bad day.
