went out to the park today and was just fishing from the bank. I asked a local cop that was out there if i could put my 12 foot jon with a trolling motor on the lake and he said i couldnt. On the ky fish and game site it says i can? Anyone have some insight for me can I or not.

I have not been there this year but we used to go several times a year with our Jon boat and trolling motor. Just need the registration up to date and the proper safety equipment to pass any boat inspection.

Yes, you can have any sized boat with an outboard, however the ourboard cannot be started. Wondered the same thing, drove over with my boat one day. Asked the guy at the window who took launch fee and he told me yes as long as I didnt start my big engine. Called KDFW and they told me the same. Drew

Call the Parks and Recreation in LExington. You can use a trolling motor. You'll have to have your boat licensed though..

But call them...I used to have a business card for the person that gave me the okay.
