FLW Series Help Needed

The FLW Series tournament will be visiting Lake Cumberland on May 3rd through May 6th.

FLW outdoors is in need of Volunteers to help with transportaion of the anglers at Burnside Island in the form of Golf Cart drivers in the mornings and evenings.

This task was originally given to Greg Pullen at Lake Cumberland Outdoors, but because of a death in the family I am helping get a list of volunteers ready for FLW to ease some of the workload off of Greg and Donna.

Bob will be greatly missed, he was a friendly face that greeted me each and everytime I walked in the door, and I considered him a close friend.

Fishers of Men members have volunteered in the past at FLW events in transportation of anglers, and I have already sent an email to all members in the state of KY. Most will not be able to help because of the distance, so I thought I would post it here on the fishin.com board, because I know there are several on this board who are in the area and will be willing to volenteer.

Don,

That's good of you to step in that way.

One thing that comes to my mind though is this, FLW Outdoors is a very big business, and they make a lot of money. Seems tey should be willing to have some type of compensation for the "volunteers" even if it is only tackle bags or something.

Doesn't matter to me, as it is impractical for me to consider coming to the other side of the state, but still, it just seems there should be something other than you might get to ride in a golf cart with someone famous.

Just my thoughts, don't mean to put a damper on your efforts. I guess deep down I am as much a capitalist as Irwin Jacobs admits to being. LOL

There very well may be something more involved, I really don't know and will leave that up to FLW. Just stepped in to help where help was needed.

FLW will be contacting persons on the list, and they will be handling the scheduling and details. In less that 15 min I already have emails.

I have talked to FLW this evening, and we also need several Camera Boat Drivers. Drivers will be using their own boats, and certain requirments need to be met. Boat owners will be compensated for thier time, as well as gas and oil.
