Surplus Auction at the Game Farm

I saw on the calendar they were having a "surplus auction" at the state game farm. "Surplus"...would this be where they auction off all sorts of sporting goods confiscated from poachers, fisherman taking fish illegally, etc?

RE: Surplus Auction at the Game Farm

I saw it on my Kentucky Afield calendar...flipped the page to May and there she was...it says on the calendar that the surplus auction takes place today...does anyone know anything about this?

My original question still stands, is this surplus auction where they auction off sporting goods, equipment, etc, that was confiscated during the past year or season?

to answer your question, yes. go to google.com and type in police auctions +kentucky and you should find the link. sorry i don't have it right off. there was a list last night of all items being auctioned, which included radios, guns, flashlights, etc. etc.

i wish that was advertised a bit more as I was kicking myself for having to work today and not being able to go. If anyone went, a general report about items, condition, GREAT DEALS etc. would be appreciated.

I swear I don't get a commision off of Kentucky Afield Calendars sold, but on mine it said today is the day for the auction...I'd like to go to this auction sometime...I've heard they have everything there from campers, tents and lanterns to ATV's, boats, trailers, trucks and all of the gear an outdoor enthusiast could want...bows, guns, fishing equipment, you name it...I'd say you could probably pick up some fairly nice used stuff for a decent price...

I was at the KDFW site this morning, and found an adobe file of the auction items. Some great things. Lots of rifles and shotguns, a few boats, and I'm with you guys, i want to go sometime, but I want money to spend.

I don't want to seem negative, but I have been to some of the KDFW auctions for old KDFW equiptment, vehicles, and confiscated stuff. The equiptment prices were high. The conficated stuff was mostly old traps, mussel boats, junk outboards, and other junk. I haven't been for a few years, so maybe there are some bargains now. Good Luck!
