RE: New Rule?

LAST EDITED ON May-01-06 AT 11:15AM (EST)[p] Video tape works wonders you know...

"IF ANY MORE POSTS appear asking if "Someone" was caught cheating or was "Suspected" of cheating I will ban them from the board permanently."

That's just a little harsh Jim...What if it was your money?

I have the names of the people involved and I"ve got a call into someone that can find out the facts. Hopefully a news paper will pick up this story.

RE: New Rule?

OK, Billy someone comes on here and says Redneckshadrap won a tournament .. any suspicions he ever cheated?
Has anyone ever caught them cheating..
without proof, just because they LOST to them in a tournament?
NOPE.. the post I deleted asked if 2 men had EVER been caught cheating. That is all it said.
That is unfair and slanderous.
It is pure jealousy.
I will not tolerate that behaviour. IF YOU HAVE PROOF FINE.. no proof then don't ask.

RE: New Rule?

Redneckshadrap I do not think it is to harsh. I agree with Jim until it is in the paper, or he sees the ticket or some other proof, people need to keep thier mouth shut. Even with it being in the paper you can not say they are cheating until they convicted in some way. Even if someone knows the men themselves and knew they cheated it would be in thier best interest to not list thier names until convicted. It could cost us the board and the person that post the mens names a lot of money. I am not sure even if it was in the paper tomorrow with thier names it should be placed on the board until convicted. I would rather not know who that take a chance of loosing the board and that is what could happen. If someone has lost money to these guys sorry about your luck, but it happens, placing thier names on here will not get your money back and could cost you a lot more. I really amI am not trying to start an arguement, I normally agree with you but this time Sorry I do not. I think Jim needs to protect the board First.

But from what I was told, they were video taped....that's a no-brainer.
A lot of tourney fisherman on here though. Don't you think they have a right to know?

"people need to keep thier mouth shut"

I doubt that will happen on or off this board. Bait shops will be talking about this for a long time.

Billy I understand what you are saying I do, but like I said People need to keep thier mouth shut by that I meant about the Names of the people. It does not matter if they have Video Tape, the fish and a confession, prior to be proven by law you better be careful one placing anyones name in that manor. Even if they are convicted 2 years from now anything stated now with thier names on it can still cost you a bunch of money, believe me I have a friend who got sued by someone that was convicted of something and it still cost him attorney fees and around $10,000. on top of that it is not worth it taking the chance.

RE: New Rule?

No worry, I have no intention of publically posting the names on any board.

RE: New Rule?

There is no rule against printing the name of someone who has been arrested or cited, or who appears on an incriminating tape. You just can't state as fact that they are guilty of a crime until that is proven in court.

RE: New Rule?

How many months did we hear about O.J., and he never was convicted? I never intended to cause this site, or anyone connected with it any problems. I knew the names of the"suspects" before I went to the weigh-in Saturday, but still have not, and will not post them on a public forum, untill an official release is made.
