    Smallmouth at taylorsville?? I have fished at taylorsville for about ten years now, i have heard reports of smallmouth but have never caught one there. I dont think there are any there.

    There are smallmouth in Salt river so a few end up in the lake. I haven't fished there much the last few years but when I did fish T-ville more often I would catch a smallie from time-to-time. Usually they were pretty nice fish 2+ pounds when you would catch one.

    laurel lake was on fire last week. i had several keeper size (18") over 3 trips, biggest was 22. i assume they were coming off the beds and feeding heavy. caught all of them in the backs of main lake cuts where the bottom turned to sand and pea gravel.
    also caught several nice spots biggest was 17. all smallies released unharmed into the cool water of laurel, all spots released VERY harmed into the scalding oil of my fry daddy.
