I'll tell you how we can have a good tournament. Everybody put up their entry money to vote on a lake and time. If the lake & time that you voted for dosen't get chosen, then you can get your money back. That way everybody that voted will be in.
Viking you have a good point when you vote you pay or you dont vote this would stop part of the voteing

That would exclude the people that want to come, butt cannot or do not want to fish a tournament.
like barren oct 1, nolin oct 2, barkley oct 3 ,rough oct4 ,cumberland oct 5 now pick a date and a lake you want thats how it need to be if i am feeling well i will go anywhere but yatesville and fish i dont care i will drive without whining but it is the date that is the kicker.

Lastly hypnotize the fish to jump in so that even the inexperienced angler can weigh in a trophy.
THERE THAT SHOULD MAKE ALL HAPPY
the other thing to remember is the tournament is a bonus the real deal is the get together. and when we start inviting the members more to a cook out than a tournament the non competing folk would show too

LAST EDITED ON May-18-06 AT 10:07AM (EST)[p] When we have one of these things, kinda like we do at Dale in January, most of us ususally come for a minimum of 4 days. A day in to get set up, 2 solid days of fishing, and a day tp pack up and travel home. Now's because a lot of folks travl down from Northern Indiana and Ohio.
Last weekend didn't work out for me because my ole truck probably would'nt have made it that far and I had no ride. Also this weekend being my 9'th anniversary also didn't help.
I would love to come to Barkley, but if I did I would like at least wed-sun and would try and make arrangements to pull my camper down. Also would have to burn 4 days of vacation that I usually use in F-n-F season.
Cumberland, in my opinion, really would have a big turnout. A lot more types of fishing. Especially if it were based at Wolfe Creek.
But we will be having one in the fall in Frankfort and anyone is welcome to come out. I don't want the dates to collide though and I'll have to use my days off for this one first.

Fisheater & myself was going to come to Barren for the get together, but we had a club tourny that day. We would be interested in a fall one so hopefully we can get there. Rough would be the preference we have. Barkley & Cumberland is a bit far for us. But if time and money is good to us we will be there, where ever it may be.

Jim,
I certainly come if at all possible. I'd love a fall get together. Also, I'd prefer Barkley. I've never been to Rough River, but then I had never been to Barren until the first get together, and only the second time this past get together.
I think we can get at least another 15 more guys at Barkley or KY lake.
Danny
what about coming to Cumberland. I didnt go to Barren because it was too far. Some where closer to the eastern kentucky boys.
OK maybe we need to have one in the spring at Barren centrally located and a fall one and move it around. Barkley this year and Cumberland next year, followed by Rough and then Cave Run..
How does that sound?
Jim
Jim,
You can not ever please everyone. We chose Barren this year, and in years past because several of the EAstern guys said KY/Barkley was too far. They said they would travel to the central part of the state. That hasn't happened. By the same token, the western guys won't come to the central part either.
It seems there is more participation from eastern guys. My suggestion is cater to the majority. Have it in the east. See if you can get a better turn out.
I can honestly say, I can not afford, especially while out of work, to make it a two day affair and stay at a hotel, so I won't make a cumberland or dale affair. But, you will likely have many more show up there anyway. Billy won't come west, we hoped he would come to Barren, this other fellow says that Barren is also too far... so have it east.
You can not and will not ever please everyone, unless you want to have many seperate events at many seperate lakes.
Good luck Jim, you have a lot of work a head of you. I'm often sorry I ever even brought the subject of a get together up those 4 some years ago.
Although, most of the eastern guys probably go to Billy's get together anyway, so make sure you don't conflict dates!! Or, maybe the best thought would be to merge the two... maybe that would work.
Danny
