Trinity Result - A Little Rough This Year

I have fished the Trinity tournament the 4 of the last 5 years and this was the worst by far. I understand it is partially for charity and I can appreciate that. But it was not run very well this year. First....we checked in early in the morning and there was not mention of the start or stop times at check in. At launch time the launch boat didn't verify official start time, they didn't verify total fished allowed to be weighed, they didn't verify finish time and they didn't verify size limits. Needless to say I was under the impression that we stopped at 3 like previous years but they stopped at 2 so we were late. Wouldn't have won anything but did have nice bag of fish to weigh (approx 11#). SHAME ON US FOR NOT KNOWING OR ASKING THE START TIME. But I have never fished a 90 boat tournament where they didn't announce those things. In the past they have also given away lots of door prizes and there was nothing this year.....unless we missed it because we were late. We got to the tent before they had announced the final numbers and winners so I don't think we missed anything.

I would strongly recommend that if anyone from the Trinity Tournament see this that you take notes for next year. Just some suggestions.

I understand what you are saying, but they did hand out sheets at sign in that listed all of the rules. Someone else in the top 5 only brought in 5 fish and culled a few not realizing it was a 6 fish limit.

    Here's an idea....

Instead of just complaining, volunteer to help run it, and make the changes yourself.

    Drew - I agree

I did recieve the handout at sign in and sat out in my baot and read it while waiting for take off. They did not have a bull horn to do announcements with this year. The only reason I new it was a 6 fish limit was due to reading the handout first. I guess everyone else should have read it also huh?

These Guys do a Great Job

These people volunteer their time to do this. I have fished it several times over the years. And plan to fish it many more if I can. As far as the 6 fish limit and the time I read the rules and all is listed if they spend time reading the rules to everyone then it takes longer to get 80+ boats in the water.I want to THANK everyone involved GREAT TOURNAMENT GUYS THANK YOU.

    RE: Here's an idea....

    Danny, Marty, Jerry,

If you read my post closely you will see that I openly admitted SHAME ON ME for not knowing the stop time. For your info I did read the rules section of handout and if I'm not mistaken the hours were posted in a different area on the flier.....my comments were SUGGESTIONS......they can run the tournament however they want. I have no desire to run the tournament. I would be willing to bet that less then 20% of those that fished on Saturday took the time to read the handout while they were launching. I was merely suggesting some things that would KEEP PEOPLE COMING BACK and help them continue to raise money for the school. Sometimes read way to much into the emails on this site......not everyone is trying to stir the pot......its called constructive criticism and makes everyone better.
