Anyone fishing there. The stripers should start soon, huh? Saugers?
Talked to the guy who allegedly netted the big striper/hybrid last week. The guy who caught the fish did not have a landing net aboard and had to get help. Anyway, the fish apparently looked just like a hybrid, and the anglers, thinking they had a record, weighed it and then had the fish checked by several Kentucky biologiosts who determined that the fish was a true striper. That's just the rumor floating around down at the dam. Either way, sounds like a blast. As for my report, been catching a few flatheads and blues between the hydros and the center. Later .... Jason
Sauger are biting real good!! Below the dams.Ky river, ohio river.Green twister tails.1/8 or 1/4 ounce jig head, depends on how much current your fishing. Not real big ones but alot of em.
4 to 6 lb test will keep your jig close to the bottom which is where the sauger will be.No minnows needed.Good luck, hope this helps.
Stripers and Hybrids are really kickin it. Good runs of stripes and hybrids early and late and a report of a 24 pounder that will break the Kentucky and maybe the Indiana State Record for Hybrids.
Sauger are a bit slow right now. They are more easily caught from October through end of March.

Hey ,Jim where did you get your report?I know alot of guys fishing at that location. Will you share that info?
I have a friend who tells me what he is catching. However he is rather secretive about how and where.. I just know below the dam between the Island / Channel and the Interpretive Center. I am guessing that the daytime bite is around the dam and bear trap, and the night and day bights are up by the interpretive center. The hybrids and stripes will run minnows and shad up in the shallows at the falls.
