How do you make brake weight adjustments on the curado's, when you take the side plate off it has the 6 brakes or weights can you take these off to adjust or should they all be left alone.

the way those work is this way....
pull them out toward the edge, not all the way off, but just so they slide freely. Then the centrifigual (spellling??) force will pull them out to slow the spin of the spool. To reduce the braking power, push them into the middle, where they will click in place, and then you lock them into the middle, and they don't provide and braking assistance.

I bet Shimano will go to an external adjustment in the coming years. Most other companies allready have. They are probably waiting to get it perfected before they put them into production but all the other reel companies are doing it with great results. I rarely have to adjust my Curado's but it is a pain to take off the side plate and I drop one of the little plastic brakes in the boat every now and then and its like looking for a contact lens. Pain in the behind. Great reels though.
